Wood Meets Laptop Technology

Laptop Technology

I personally like it best when technology meets nature. Perhaps that is why the concept of Bamboo laptops appeals to me a lot. Mainly because it looks ultra-cool and is easily biodegradable. Plus bamboo can be grown in a sustainable way and don’t we already know the speed that it shoots with. One doesn’t even have to worry about recycling too.

Sensing the mood of the masses, companies are also ready to supply to the new demands. The Asus Eco book is a neat piece in natural bamboo brown with 1 GB of Ram, and is priced at $2000. Dell goes even a step further. It has come up with Studio Hybrid which promises a bamboo sleeve option. The look of the lappy is very sleek offering a great power efficiency. It has everything that a regular PC does just that it is 80% smaller and uses only 70% power. On top of this, I hear the price isn’t too high either!

Then there is the Fujitsu laptop which could create a new future for us earthlings. Actually made of cedar wood and the little plastic that is used is bio-based plastic.

This company got attention in 2002 when it became the first computer manufacturer to develop corn-based plastic for PC parts.
Cool, that’s just the eco-tech combo I need!
