Fujitsu’s Secure USB Memory machine with Auto-Erase purpose

Today Fujitsu Laboratories announce a couple of new technology that should help prevent data stored on a USB flash drive from end pc gadgets in the wrong hands. The first is the protected USB memory device prototypes pictured above that may have been inspired by a piece of hard derive cheese. It works like your standard USB flash drive Fujitsu computer key drive but it’s got a processor and battery on-board that can be used to mechanically erase the data after a specified amount of time, or if the flash drive is plug into an unregistered computer.

Kitty USB Hub Has Back That Faces You

There is just something creepy about this USB hub that comes in the form of a forlorn looking cat, as you open up its back downwards to reveal a trio of USB 2.0 ports, while the cover ends up as the tail instead. Pretty clever design if you ask me. In addition, it looks as though it is gazing after its USB cable for the longest time in its life (all nine of them apparently). If you’re one for taking your information with you on the go, then you might be interested in the latest USB drive from LaCie. The LaCie CurrenKey is a USB 2.0 drive that looks like a coin. Yes, you read that correctly. It actually looks like a coin.Made from metal, this flash drive will even feel like a coin in your hand. I’m sorry, but this thing is just asking to get lost, don’t you think? Sure, it’s a lot thicker than any coin I know of, but it’s most likely super light and could get lost in the shuffle of pocket clutter.

Buffalo launches new portable disks

Buffalo recently launched a new series of external disks MiniStation Turbo USB 2.5 inches in different versions of up to 500GB with prices starting at 55 pounds. The MiniStation Turbo is a USB disk compatible with the different versions of Mac OS X, including Leopard (maybe that’s why the design that match the Mac).
