Sony Unveils New Generation OLED, Beats Traditional LCD Display

Japan electronic giant, Sony exhibits its prototype model of 11-inch (above) wide SVGA (1,240 x 600-pixel) and 27-inch (below) full high-definition (1,920 X 1,080 pixel) organic light emitting diode (OLED) at the company’s exhibition in Tokyo.

OLED display enjoys an edge over conventional LCD display as it consumes less power and doesn’t need hind light to work, thus assuring longer usage if it is mechanized from a battery. This paper-thin next generation TV is expected to hit the Tokyo market by the end of 2007.

What’s haute at IFA trade fair?

The mind-blowing IFA 2007 was seen in its full swing on 31 August, the opening day of the trade fair in Berlin. Known as the world’s largest consumer electronics show, the concept of the fair was the conflicting proficiency between the European, Korean, Japanese and Chinese consumer electronics makers on the basis of their manufacturing and design. The fair will last until 5 September, 2007.

Numerous electronics products were at display beating the competitiveness of the existing products. Design, style, functionality and effectiveness of the products were on priority.

Does participation of 200 companies in an exhibition means unveiling of 200 new gadgets and gizmos or other accessories? Well, I don’t know about other exhibition but yes Taipei Computer Application Show, a five-day long exhibition started in Taipei on 2 August will surely offer this.

Robot Exhibition to unveil Halluc II: Eight-legged semi-autonomous mobile robot

Take a took at the close up of the combo picture of the Halluc II, eight-legged semi-autonomous mobile robot displayed at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo on 31 July 2007.

This self-directed, robot can move independently but gives you the respect of controlling it via central computer system. The exhibition is scheduled from 01 August at the museum.

Yes, Japan’s electronics giant NEC has unveiled its prototype model of a multi-media mobile phone. The phone is packed with a high-spec video camcorder plus editing device that helps in transmitting these videos.

The displayed model at the Wireless Japan exhibition in Tokyo is a design study model for future mobile phones.
